Enabling Remote Assistance in Control Panel

By eloisa_g

If you're not so much of an expert, chances are it would be difficult to discuss technicalities with an administrator especially about a computer problem at hand. It's good though that Windows XP has Remote Assistance where an administrator will see what you're seeing on screen and can chat with you. Here's how to enable this feature.

1. Go to Start and proceed to Control Panel.

2. Click your mouse on Performance and Maintenance and then System, as well. Next, click on Remote tab.

3. Ensure that Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from this computer check box is checked. If not marked, click on the box.

4. Select Allow this computer to be controlled remotely check box so that whoever connects to you will control your computer. Then, click on the OK button.
