Default Windows Not Responding

I have 5 pages opened on my screen to work for the day.

One for my emails and Reference ... the windows Hotmail and Wikipedia.
Another for my favourite 'forum' to post entries.
One Note Pad ... Untitled to note something of value.
Another Note Pad that has 'saved' notes.
And, Word Web 'thesaurus' for reference.

We happily plod on going from one to the other.
Suddenly one of them ... windows mostly ... stops work ... and the words in bracket comes 'Not Responding' . . . Internet connection is ok with that 'green' round button at right hand bottom of frame with word 'Internet'.

What does this mean ? Is there any remedy for this ?

Please help me.

I am sorry ... I don't follow you ... as you said I used the triple keys and got the dialog box ... there I find 4 Tabs and many programs indicated.
Now how do I end a program ? ... How do I identify the program to end ? ...
I am new to computer ... I need specific information please.

Default Frozen

Should TaskManager not engage, and sometimes it does not...the tab you want will be the first tab in TaskManager...it will tell you which prog is running or not resonding...kill those that are not responding.

Use MacDev's "StopIt"...if there is still power to the mouse and taskbar you can kill the progs one at a time, thus loosening up some resources for the rest to fininsh whatever they were doing when the froze up. Start at the bottom of the list and knock them off one at a time, or until you see some action. StopIt will be first at the bottom, leave it and do the next one up.

If you have anti-virus/anti-spamware on board [no need for it to be working unless you are on line...it will screw things up pretty fast.

Last resort, hit the reset button and start all over again.

Select application Tab , in application tab end the programs which are not responding , i.e the programs whose status is NOT RESPONDING.
