Default Frozen

Should TaskManager not engage, and sometimes it does not...the tab you want will be the first tab in will tell you which prog is running or not resonding...kill those that are not responding.

Use MacDev's "StopIt"...if there is still power to the mouse and taskbar you can kill the progs one at a time, thus loosening up some resources for the rest to fininsh whatever they were doing when the froze up. Start at the bottom of the list and knock them off one at a time, or until you see some action. StopIt will be first at the bottom, leave it and do the next one up.

If you have anti-virus/anti-spamware on board [no need for it to be working unless you are on will screw things up pretty fast.

Last resort, hit the reset button and start all over again.
