Default vista to XP?

Hey every1,
i am a newbie when i comes to installing operating systems, but i though id give it a go..
what i am trying to do is install XP on a laptop (compaq presario C731TU) and i have followed all the instructions i can conserning this (DUAL-BOOT?) and have come across a problem??
when i run the setup.exe from the (XP home edition SP2) disk in bios, the setup initialises and i select the partition i made, the then it installs some files to that partition. after that has finished the computer restarts and asks me to do the same thing again?????
is there a solution to this ?????
thanks in advance =D

It seems to me that your hitting the Press Any Key again, that's why you are in the loop. Only hit it once...
