I would and you might do a system clean with something like Ccleaner as it has a decent registry cleaner that will remove some remnants that might be left over. remove the program and then clean the registry and then reboot and see if they come back correctly. CCleaner - Home
If it still doesn't come up properly use the system restore and restore back to before you installed that program. From what i have been seeing. these programs are interfering with the built in overlay on the icons and causing them to turn black or just disapear.
