Default VISTA Hang-ups must stop!!

Why, oh why, can't I make VISTA go faster? Why, when opening ANYTHING, does the (...not responding) hang-up happen with EVERY single thing? There has GOT to be a way to make this stop happening!
VISTA is so slow! Here's the infor:

Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop
VISTA 32-bit Version 6.0.6002
64x2 Dual Core Processor TK-55
RAM 893 MB
Disk Space 97 GB free
75 programs running
67 processes running

I've got Spyblaster installed, AVG (purchased) and Augslogics Boost Speed (purchased). I run them all on a regular basis.

Thanks, as always.

Daugust

I've had Vista for sometime. Other than running Glarys Utillity every day, I found "this" to be a great help - -

Ultimate Windows Tweaker v2, a Tweak UI for Windows 7 & Vista | The Windows Club

As to your/our "not responding" problem, I experience it most when I'm on AOL. For you , more ram may help also.
Good luck, Greg
