Default Second hard drive

I installed a second HD in HP 764n. The second HD got the HP recovery files installed and I now have it installed on both HD. Is there a way to remove this from the second HD? I don't mind it being on the first HD but see no reason to have it taking up space on the second. ALso, why would XP install it on the second HD?

XP wouldn't on it's own. Some setting you have on your PC must have told it to do so, and as your new hdd has the most free space it was a likely candidate for the install.
As for deleting it, the word format comes to mind. Move your other data off of the drive and format it.
