Default Removal of Program: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1

In Add/Remove there is a program entitled:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 ... 186.00MB

Please tell me:

1... the functions of this program?
2... the source from where this could be intalled?
3... Wish to uninstall this program and experience my system without it.

Kindly note that there is the program: Windows Rights Management Service Pack 2 ... 3.42MB
Would not this program compensate for loss of the earlier program by any chance?

Thank you,
ben aloysius

.NET 2.0 is a runtime for Windows applications; a part of Visual Studio package. NLite or vlite needs it.

If you remove .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 from your computer you are going back to the unsecure version of .NET Framework 2.0. Leaving your computer vulnerable to security exploits.

This programme Windows Rights Management Service Pack 2 has nothing to do with the .NET Framework 2.0.

Leave well alone...
