Default Problem with DVD X COPY Xpress

I bought years ago dvd x copy xpress that i've been using to backup my dvd's to conserve my new ones. Recently i had a problem with my computer, and my computer tech cleared my hard drive to fix problem. When i tried to install the program showed me message of not accepted more than 7 attempts to registrate. So i can't use any more this program? How can i activate it again. I will appreciate your response or suggestion, thanks, Lourdes

most corporate programs have limited installations, even Windows itself only allows itself to be activated with the same key a limited number of times.
Is this an OEM version?
did you download it or buy it?
what OS are you using?

I would suggest calling the company and attempting to explain the situation, they may extend your installation count or give you a new key.

DVD Xcopy was a US company and forced out of business due to the DMCA which prohibits the breaking of any security measures in place by software.

The makers of DVD Xcopy used to maintain a server that would activate products already in circulation. It doesn't sound like that's still the case.

Do a Google search, there may be a way to get it activated another way.

There are free programs out there to do the same job. Although technically it's illegal in the U.S. to break the encryption on the DVD, even to make a personal backup.
