problem in sound in my pc

I have a problem in the sound in my computer,i use xp(sp-2).the sound is very slow & voice is quite disturbed..it is the not problem of sound driver,I think so .is there any solution by some kind of registryediting ,by which i can solve this problem ?

Remove the sound card / device drivers from the Hardware / Device Manager. Reboot your computer and reinstall the sound card / device drivers.

This should fix the garbled sound problem...
