Default Sound Card

I have no sound> When I look in sounds and audio devices it says no sound device. In looking in Aida32, no sound chip is showing in the Biostar motherboard. When I run DirectX diagnostic on sound, it shows no sound card detected. How can I find out what kind of sound card I had, because it worked at one time. I would like to just install a new one and forget the rest. I have XP Pro. Can I get a plug and play sound card and install it. If so how can I find out which ones will work in my computer. I have an Antec. Thanks Sarge

The OP would have posted back since 08-06-2007 if had anymore problems.

This is the problem when old threads are dug up and answered...
