Exclamation Im lookiing for a media player that doesnt take up much resources.

Hi I have an Acer Aspire 5315 laptop and Im running vista home.. My windows media player is a hog on my cpu and slows down my computer to crawl esp when I am converting files and/or downloadinf files. I also have Acer Arcade... Is it possible to remove them and replace with a smaller media player?? I need one that will play DVD's too hopefully one that is free would be nice..I only got about 150 gigs to play with total and I dont have much room left....I know I would have to reconvert my video files that is ok..unless there is one that plays wmv files....

Default VLC mediaplayer

i use VLC mediaplayer -- mainly because it plays nearly all media that i have downloaded from the net or ripped from cd/dvds.

it supports the playback of video with subtitle files, video formats for mobile phones, WMV, WMA, and i would guess it plays everything else

VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!
