How to restore factory settings on my Toshiba Laptop?

toshiba laptop model# PSAF0U-01Q009 How do I restore factory settings?
I also have windows xp on this toshiba laptop.
I've tried system recovery, that didnt work so this is my only other option. If anyone knows how to correctly do this your help would be very much apperciated!
