Every time I go into system restore I can set a previous set date, then when I try to click next the button depresses on next but nothing happens. I really need to restore my computer to previous date because I had a recent virus attack that has been resolved.

Hello, I know this sounds like a stupid question but are you selecting an actual restore point and not just a date?

If you can't get it to work from windows you can try continuously pressing F8 (don't keep it pressed down, just keep ramming on it like a madman) and then selecting the restore option from the boot menu.
