Default Downloading Music Safely and Cheap..?

What is the best procedure to pull 1960's music quickly and safely off the Internet..?

Too many times I've downloaded OS killer bugs with music... I've just quit taking music from the Internet, till I've found a safe method...

Are there any good places to get free clean 60's tunes?..

No, Not free ones anyway. You will have to suffer the adds and other crap that you get with free music downloads or you will need to subscribe and pay for them from a service such as Rapsody....stay away from BearShare as it is nothing but a host that will share your music files with others as well!

Another option is to capture music from other sources such as internet radio and re-edit them to get the over talk and fuzz out...although there is some decent radio stations that play clean music from your choice of sounds.

You will just need to search them out!

"Radio".. Of course!.. for hard to get tunes...

What's the best freebie software for editing out junk in tunes..?

I have a huge collection of thousands of albums and 45's, with all the music I want.. and an 8-foot stack of top of the line turntables, amps, and tape-decks, from garage sales.. all on the new shelf and desk, made from water-bed boards on a commercial counter-top, on 4 by 4 maple-legs.. the whole mess waiting for me to find the time to assemble a professional recording-desk...
One can buy $500 TT's for 2 bucks these days.. But the retail buggers want 400-bucks to replace the stylus on my favorite goldline cartridge... Good thing I've been saving cartridges and stylus's for 30-years... There must be hundreds in that box, but only one of these $700 cartridges...

What are the options for recording 45's to PC..?

Is there a laser TT?..

actually you can set up any of the auxillary items that you want, to a computer...it is dependent upon the sound card that you have installed.
This can be accomplished by either a stereo mini plug or RCA plugs or an Svideo plug.

You will need to have the auxillary equipment self powered and in some cases ran through a pre-amp but again....depending on the sound card...as some can receive straight through and filter themslves.

Check your computer for the sound in plug and go from there. Most installed sound cards today have 3 plugs:
sound in
Mic in
sound out

Newegg.com - M-AUDIO US41077 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards

This is one of the better cards out there and highly recommended. It comes with a set of 6 rca dongles to connect up to 8 channels....

You would need to make sure it will install to your computer specs!

There are plenty of USB turntables. Some come with software for editing.

usb turntable - Google Search

There are plenty of third party programs for doing this also.
Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder
Audio Cleaning Lab 14 - audio sound recording software by MAGIX
