If your one who is paranoid about what gets put on your machine or tracking your browsing without your consent, you'll want to read on.

Have you deleted all your temporary files and cleared your browser cache cut can't figure out how that site still knows you?

It's probably a flash cookie. It's technically called a Local Shared Object, but it serves the same basic function as a cookie. To remember information about your visit.


The simplest way to access the flash settings panel is from the Adobe website.

No Flash Cookies will be saved if you go into Global Storage Settings and disable the option “Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer”.

I use Flashblock 1.5.5 to stop unwanted Flash adverts / content. That and Ad Muncher takes care of all of the advertising carp on websites...
