Changing the Location of the My Music or My Pictures Folders

By master_ben

As you can recall, in Windows 2000 you have the privelege to move the location of the 'My Documents' folder by right-clicking on the folder and choosing a new location in the shell. In the Windows Xp version, Microsoft has also included the 'My Music' and the 'My Pictures' folders to have that shell folder status of 'My Documents' folder. Changing these folders' locations are very simple and easy to do.

First, you have to open the My Computer window and go to the location where you would want My Music or My Pictures folder to have it's new location. Then you have to open the 'My Documents' window in a different window and drag the folder/s into the new location. Windows XP will automatically update all the references to that folder/s.
