Default Change my ip address

I need to change my IP address for security reasons.
Im on XP, and my ISP is Charter. I have a static IP.
I need to know how to change my IP. Im using a linksys wireless router but all my computers are connected to it via seperate ethernet cables.

are you attempting to change your local IP inside your router, or your global, which websites see? The 2nd is assigned to you by your ISP and is in most cases, not changable, you can mask this however.

What is the "security reason"? The most common use for this is when a user is banned by ip from a website.
