Default Cd Restore


i have a custom c omputer that my grandfather made for me and it is loading up the bios screen but not the windows logo it turns black right before that so when i try to use the restore cd that came with my dell computer to restore i think it frezzes cause it saids seaching for some type of debugger and then it wil just stay there and not move again does anyone know what my problem am i able to use that cd

The dell cd will only restore that model of dell computer. You need the OS cd that came with your computer.

Since the computer is going blank right after P.O.S.T there is a good indication that your harddrive has failed. open the case and determine who the harddrive manufacturer is and go to their website and download the utillity tools (disc) that is designed for that harddrive model. Boot to the utillity CD and have it perform the maintenance testing to determine if it is bad or not...

Your Grandfather should have supplied you with a Windows operating system disk with your custom built computer.

Go and ask him for it, and your problem is solved...
