Default cant delete shortcut link from in vista


Hi i cant get rid of some "lnk" shortcuts from the start search area they just have a blank sheet with a turned down corner icon i know the way i described it is confusing example if you hit the start button then type something you ll get things you watched or done only the ones with the blank icons cant be deleted they cant find these links can anyone help?

Do you mean the links you see immediatly after clicking start. If this is the case you should be able to right click and choose "remove from this list".

If you start typing, it's actualy performing a search on your hdd and displaying real time results as you type. Sound like it's displaying links to files that have been deleted. Which means it's displaying cached results. You would need to clear the recent history.
Try clicking start, right click on recent items, click on Clear recent items list.
See if that fixes it.

Thanks if i click on start i dont see recent items is there any where else i should look?

Default Just Press Shift key


hey You just click on that link and press shift then click the trash button if your OS is Linux or press Recycle bin if Your OS is windows..You told that the OS is Visata.so u do that and check if it works.
