Help me out with this error /windows not starting

booting 'windows xp'

chainloader +1
and the cursor is blinking_ _ _ _ _ _

that the above kind of statement is showing after the initial starting that means after the grub is loading (linux is opening but the xp is not opening)xp is my primary os, linux is secondary
what that problem means and what is the solution for the below mentioned statement
