Default To check compatible drivers

Am using HP Compaq laptop(Model:CQ40-145TU) in which Win Vista Home basic SP1(32 -bit) is already installed. I tried to install Win XP as secondary OS but it failed and when i asked in this forum u gave the solution as to check the drivers which are compatible or not for XP. i dont know how to check and plz guide me in checking the driver compatible for Win XP.
My another question is what is third party boot manager application and how to install that

sorry...read right over it!

for vista operating system:

Select software and drivers*

for vista 64 bit operating system

Select software and drivers*

for windows xp operating system:

Select software and drivers*

as you can see from visiting the XP support page the only drivers available for that operating system on that computer hardware configuration is the drivers for keyboard and mouse. This means that the manufacturer at this time does not support XP on that computer.

This doesn't mean that there are not drivers to be found...only that it is going to be much more difficult in finding them. Each piece of hardware in the computer will need to be id'ed and then an intensive search for xp drivers for that hardware will have to be done.
*********************************************

For searching the above

hp.com > support/driver tab > model of cumputer in text box and search > select operating system

This is not hard to learn to do!

When you say the installation failed, do you mean it didn't finish installing or that things don't work under XP, eg sound, advanced graphics, etc?
