Thumbs down stupid emachine tech support


hello ive been trying to figure out wats wrong with my sisters computer and ive had no luck. i contacted microsoft and they told me to contact emachines. emachines was no help what so ever. they told me to check all my conections and make sure the computer was plugged in to the wall. well no shit thats pretty dam obvious. i'm having trouble booting the os. before it went to the screen with safe mode, command promt and all that. now i start it and it says disk boot failure. i just want to know what happened that it switched to that and how i can fix it.

Are you prompted to insert a system disk? This error could be a result of any number of things... did the screen change colors before it went to the safemode status? Are you given the option to start in safemode or start computer normally?

yea it says something about a system disk and no i have no option to do anything. i had the option before and now it starts the boot screen and then stops. saying i need to insert a disk.

Try pressing/holding the F8 key when you start the machine and see if you get a list of options one being Safe Mode. Do you know what happened to the machine before it shutdown as began giving this message?
