Organize Your Desktop With Folder Templates

By cathy cali

MS Windows XP folders have a task pane that’s available for the user to manage everything within – be it files, common folders etc. Folders of Multimedia such as My Pictures, My Music and My Video folders contain specific tasks that you will find in the task pane. Aside from this, you can view what’s inside a folder for pictures in a series of slides in filmstrip view.

For arranging these folders, Windows XP traditionally uses folder templates, and these attributes include all types, and documents among others. This tool can also be used for huge graphics and pictures as well as for minimum volumes of graphics, Photo Albums, your audio and playlists that can be categorized by single composer/artist, Music Artists, and Music Albums. In applying these templates:

1. A folder should be initially created.

2. Inside this folder, you must make a file or paste a copied one from your files. For Audio files, XP uses the Picture Template. For video files, MS Windows makes use of the Video Template, and the Standard
Template is used for files that are non-multimedia in nature. Otherwise, you have the option of choosing the folder template to use such as:

1. If the folder is open, select properties in the pop-up menu after you right click on an empty part inside the folder.
2. Click customize tab.
3. Go to the necessary template from the drop-down list, and then click ok.
