Default Motherboard Capabilities

Got a PC downstairs which was bought premade from a retailer. How do I find out what the motherboard is and what it can take (i.e. Max/Type RAM) etc...... Any programs? Like dxdiag tells you what every component is except the motherboard. PLEASE HELP

You should have got the mobo manual with the PC....
If not then the mobo model and serial number is usually eithernear the chipset on the front of the board...
Or on a sticker on the back...
Then just Google the mobo model number and you should find all you need to know about it.

Happy hunting!!!

You might be able to find what mobo it is in the computer manual or online from the manufacturer.

Yep, I got a mesh pc a little while back and that came with a diagram of the insides & the back panel (how nice of them!).

It also came with an invoice that detailed everything down to the serial number of the component, which has come in VERY handy...although not much of the original system remains

My Dell laptop came with a similar invoice, it tells you the manufacturer's codes so you can google 'em.
