Default hp 510 notebook bios problem

i tried to boot windows xp on my laptop HP 510 with hard disk from an other laptop HP 500, Obviously, he didn't work, but when i tried to update windows, in steep when it reboot, it never work.

When i power on laptop, just leds stay on but system never boot.

I 'm 95% sure that bios is corrupted, but i don't know how to do for recovering bios.

I note that HP 510 is without floppy drive

Having a drive from one machine work in another is very unlikely to work. The hardware between the 2 computers is very different and thus the drivers used to control that hardware is too. Assuming the OS does work on the new machine (I am having a hard time understanding what you said happened).

What makes you think the BIOS is corrupt? This is a very rare thing to occur unless you were changing all the settings without being careful as to what you were changing. A more likely event is that the OS update caused the drivers to not work and thus the OS will not load. Another likely outcome is a malfunctioning piece of hardware.

Try loading the computer using a Windows CD, if that works, it is NOT the BIOS.

hi Willam,
When i said that i'm sure that bios is corrupted, because this laptop is TATOOWED, that means, if you try to install other system, other THE ORIGINAL CD, you may have lot off problems.
So if any suggestion will be welcom
