Many laptops are today running on Windows 7 and the option of it going to sleep when you close the lid is useful to few and few may not want this. For the people who are comfortable with this option then it is ok, but for them who wants the downloads to be continued while they close the lid we have the solution for them. The following steps will help you how to disable the option:

Step 1: Click on start and select control panel.

Step 2: Select “Power options”.

Step 3: Click on the “Change plan settings” for the power plan that you are using.

Step 4: Edit plan settings window will open up. Click on the “Change advanced power settings” option.

Step 5: A new Power options window will open up, scroll down to the option “Power buttons and lid”

Step 6: Expand it by clicking on the small + button.

Step 7: Click on the option On battery and select Do nothing.

Step 8: Similarly select on the option Plugged in and select Do nothing.

Step 9: Click on OK.

Now you have successfully disabled the same and you can close the lid after which also the downloads will continue and you may remain thought free about it.
