How to delete Grooveex.dll file in Windows 7?

Grooveex.dll, you must be thinking what is this then I would like to tell you that is a file which is responsible for giving a problem in installing Microsoft office. I would like to tell you about this problem that I came across.

I recently came across the problem with my Microsoft Office 2010 and I was having SharePoint 2010 as a part of Office. So I wanted to uninstall it and install a fresh version of it.

While I was trying to install the office again then I asked me to uninstall SharePoint. Then I was thinking why did this happen. Didn’t the office uninstaller uninstall it. Then I realized that it is not easy to take it off. Here are the steps to solve this problem.

Step 1: Go to My Computer and click on the drive where your OS is residing.

Step 2: Click on the Program Files and select Microsoft Office folder.

Step 3: Go to office 14 folder and delete the file Grooveex.dll ( but it is not possible to delete this as this is a sharepoint of the Microsoft Office which starts automatically

Step 4: So all we can do is to change the extension from .dll to .bak and restart the computer.

That’s all the problem is now solved and there wont be any problem in installing the office again.
