Default windows xp setup

Hi there

Go to the MS-DOS Prompt , Change the C: prompt to the path I386, (where you copied the XP Setup)

Type in Winnt and problem solved

Instructions are below

C:\>
C:\>D:
C:\>cd\i386
C:\i386>Winnt

Setup will run smoothly in the DOS portion of setp

Regards

Roger

Windows i start the laptop winth windows xp as you said

With start up disk win98.But when i am going to c:/i386/winnt and starting the setup. The setup is starting but i am getting the message : "setup did not detect Smartdrive on your computer. Smartdrive will greatly improve the perfomance of this phase of windows setup.

You should exit now, start Smartdrive, and then restart setup. See your DOS documentation for details about Smartdrive.

Press F3 to exit setup.
Press ENTER to continue without SmartDrive.

I Press ENTER... The setup continue and copies files to my hard disk , but after 1minute i get the message "Please wait while Setup copies files to your harddisk. And nothing happen. Stay on the same message.

Thanks for your reply.
