Default stuck in safe mode


My son has a an old gatewy computer running ME, he unplugged the cpu to move it and now it runs in safe mode without the task bar. How Do we get back into the computer we have tried rebooting selecting normal mode but it alway goes to safe mode without the task bar!!! Anyone have any suggestions?

rozzie,
Where did your son move the processor to? Have you checked the pins on the processor? If some of the pins are bent it may be possible to straighten them, I use fine duck billed pliers for the job. If any are broken off it is probably better to replace it.

I believe the poster is refering to moving the whole computer and not the act of removing the chip
