Default Removing XP from dual boot

I noticed you gave instructions for removing XP from a dual boot where Vista first resided. You mentioned about restarting with the vista CD or DVD. My problem is that my laptop came not with a vista CD but with the vista installed on the hard drive on a partition. Now how do I follow this step, since I am no computer expert?
Thanks

what is the orientation of your partitions, eg:
1) XP #GB in size
2) Vista #GB in size
... etc. Hopefully Vista is installed first this should make it easier
