Cd Burn Problem writing a DVD

Hello!

I am unable to write any DVDs using Nero-8 with external Benq DVD writer, when i looked in info tools in nero it revealed that the Drive can only read and does not have writing capabilities. But it is able to write DVDs using WinDVD creator, but I want to use Nero -8 . Please help.

Try a different brand of dvd's, and see if that makes a difference...

There might be a conflict of drivers and all that....try removing winDVD and then reinstall Nero after winDVD was totally removed!

If I remember WinDVD sets itself up as a default burning program and will not allow any others to write to disc. Check the settings and see if there is a place to change it!

I would uninstall Nero 8 with the Nero removal tool, I would also uninstall Win DVD.

Then go to Start / Run / regedit and remove all entries for WinDVD.

Then I would throw WinDVD in to the garbage bin.

Re-install Nero 8 without all the bloat crap that it wants to install...

As what wombat suggested...
after un-installing both programs and doing the registry cleaning you can navigate to the C:\Program Files and remove the folders if they are still there....sometimes the re-installation of a program will search for existing folders and copy data from that folder and of course if the data is corrupted then it gets installed as such!
