trouble Peculiar Display Problem

I have a 2.8 Ghz Pentium 4 cpu with 256 MB RAM.The problem that I am facing is that I don't get the display most of the time. The system has a D865GBF series motherboard.I get the display only sometimes. If I switch off the system and turn it on once again I don't get the display at all. Please clarify me whether it is RAM problem,Motherboard problem or processor problem. The SMPS is working fine. Will the problem get solved if I add a display
card.

Regards,
Prashanth

why not try updating the graphics card drivers first...It may be that it is the latest but could have been corrupted.

Go to your computer manufacturer's website and look for the driver/download section under the support tab....then use your model number to access the correct driver downloads...download the .exe file to your desktop and double click it to start the installation. It will remove the older driver and reinstall the newer version.

see if that helps first....

Most definately while you are there at the website look for the manual and check to see what ram(memory) you have and how much it will take....you really need to get more ram. as this could be a part of the issues as well.

Don't forget to check the simple things too, like the cables to the mnitor.
