Default Operating system crashed need help

My system/Os crashed Sunday night and I had to create a new folder/partition on c drive. It is a real mess. my video is dysfunctioal and hurting my eyes and all my info is God knows where, while I try to resolve this crash.
I tried to login 2 times and failed. I know I typed the words correctly, but at times today my keystrokes are not being communicated accurately. Just in case, I would appreciate your sending me my info. So many computing things are in a state of chaos for me that I feel quite overwhelmed.
I am so glad I found your community. I found it through Cnet Downloads.

Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Allessandra Montgomery Parrish

What is your Operating system? If it is windows xp you can perform a repair installation of XP

I run (XP Pro), I tried a repair boot, which I was disallowed by windows;
which led to my having to construct this unusable partition/folder, which has rendered my system extremely difficult to use for anything. Slightly better than not working at all.
What a mess! But again I am so grateful for your community. I spent a lot of time reading Tips and Tricks and other general threads and learned a great deal and felt a bit better due to the level of deep interest and intelligence of the other members. If my screen were refreshing properly and did not look like it was living under water I would have read more, but my eyes and my brain are frazzled by a once lovely display jumping all over the place!
Again, you guys are just great! I am so glad I went to Cnet for a download back in April because they directed me to SysChat. A great place.
Sincerely,
Allessandra Montgomery Parrish

You need to update/reinstall your video card drivers.

If you know what kind of video card you have you can search the web and download the drivers. If you don't know the details of your video card Install this utility AIDA32 it will extract details of all components of the PC
