Pc Blue Only see Tash running in Task Manager

I just recently purchases this laptop, HPdv8135n, and it runs like a dream with the exception I can't get the complete Task Manager to come up. It looks like the top toolbar(s) has been cut off. I can't even close the program on it own window. The cpu usage windows appears down in the right side of the task bar and I have to right click on it to close Task manager. I have tried to re-install Windows and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?
My os is Windows Media

Default Have you tried moving the window using the keyboard?

To do so, just open Task Manager, then press the the Alt key and the Spacebar at the same time. This should bring up a menu to move, size, minimize and maximize the window.

For now, try moving it by pressing M and use the arrow keys to reposition the window? You can also try to Maximize it, failing that.

BTW, what's the resolution of your screen? 1024x768? 800x600? 640x480?

Default Still can't get the complete Task Manager

I just tried using the Alt+spacebar and nothing. I reset my resolution at several smaller sizes and still no help. I'm currently set at 1280X800. I have a 17" LCD and anything smaller makes the icons too large. Guess I'll have to use a third party utility to see processes and what is running.

Default I should have mentioned

I can't minimize or maximize the window because that toolbar is missing. There is nothing above the line that says Task Status
M+arrow keys don't work either.

Have you tried double clickin on the top edge of the task manager window? There is a feature added to XP to allow larger view of the process and memory usage options.
*Sounds like an easy solution, but you have no idea how many times i've seen this simple answer be the solution

Yup... William is right the solution is to double click on the gray area above or below (anywhere in the gray area actually) Task | Status! It's interesting to know that the laptop came with the task manager window in this state...
