Default mouse dies intermittantly

I have a mouse with a mind of its own. At any given time it stops working. Upon further examination, as its a USB optical wheel mouse, I see that the laser has died.

What works is to pull it out of one port and plug it into another. This is totally illogical. As well, I can pull it our of its own port and plug it back in the same port. If it were the mouse, it should not work again.

I am protected up the yin yang. Have done numerous file checks, and have uninstalled and reinstalled both mouse and its software.

Default check mouse warranty for RMA

hello

i suggest checking the mouse for existing warranty. if it is, return it for RMA (repair or replacement).

unfortunately, mouse devices are not that easily repairable. its cheaper to just buy a new mouse device. to best test the mouse (and isolate that the usb port on your computer is not the culprit) test the mouse on a different computer.

If your mouse is still under warranty, then you could probably have it replaced or repaired by the service center or the store you got it from.

If not, then you would have to do it yourself. First, you must examine the cable and check if there are any loose wires or cuts that could possibly damage the inner wires. If you see that they are already out, then that would be a bigger problem. And you might have to get a new one so that you would have better experience with it.
