Default LCD/TV monitor burnout?

I have an LCD/TV monitor (Dell Model W1700) that all of a sudden just went blank. Could it be a screen burnout? I can still faintly see the desktop with a flashlight at the right angle. Is this fixable?

The backlight has probably gone, it's not fixable at home. Either take it to a Dell repairer to get fixed, or buy a new monitor. It will cost you the same amount to money to do either...
