Firefox will become famous soon enoughFirefox will become famous soon enough

Browser Firefox

What setting are enabled in Firefox? Goto Tools>Options and click the content tab. Both Javascript and Java should be ticked. Also did you download the Flash player through Firefox when it prompted you? Sometimes this dosent work correctly and you should go to the Adobe website and download the one for Firefox and install. I have visited both websites with my Firefox browser with no problems.

Any help I can provide just ask.

Default system

I have Windows XP home edition
Sony Viao pc with Celeron processor
Service pack 2
McAfee protection/antivirus
Problem just started. I was previously able to veiw You Tube videos. My wife and kids want to go to Disney.com, but that site and now others say we either have JavaScript turned off or need updated Flash player. When we try to download Flash Player 9, it seems to load, and shows up on our programs, but will never play, and the same site say we still need it.

I was using IE 6, but I kept reading to upgrade to the new IE 7. It loaded all fine. I still tried to download Flash player 9, and performed all the suggested checks and fixes, and still it wont run Flash, and all websites say I need to upgrade to FP 9. But I did...

My problem is that I can download the Flash player on my desktop...and everything works fine. If I switch to another desktop (both of which have admin privileges), then I get the same error mentioned in the above posts regarding the need to download the Flash player. If I remove the Flash player and try to re-install it from another desktop, it doesn't install. Using IE7.

You need to download the proper flash program for the Mac system. you need to make sure that you have the proper Java for Mac installed and enabled....(check your browser settings as there may be a scripting security issue!)

There is two different things....
1)macromedia flash which is what you need installed to view in your browser and media player
2)flash player is a program that will replace your existing media player

is there any way i can just get things back to how they were before without downloading anything new? i dont really want anything microsoft related on here. here is what it keeps telling me now:

The page “JavaScript and Macromedia Flash Player Problems - SysChat” has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.

i would prefer to have my computer just as it was right before i made the mistake of messing with flashplayer. thanks

Sorry, I don't do MAC! Try a Mac site to solve your answers. I am not being or trying to be rude...just Mac has their own rules that they abide by and I have enough troubles trying to catch up with all the new ones with windows!
