Default Internet not stable.

Hi, I have a intex pc with 160gb HD, 2 gb Ram. My task bar does not indicate LAN to be connected. I have to enter network properties and referesh the page to make sure that the LAN is working. I have to connect through the dialer in network properties, but then the connectivity drops in 10-15 minutes. Can any one tell me what can be done.

Did you install the dial-up information from a CD or did you use the wizard or just manually install the information.

As to being disconnected...some phone companies run checks and determine that you are either non using the connection or using too much and will disconnect you automatically. One other aspect on using dial-up is that if you are on an older line then there may be excessive static which will cause you to loose connection as well.
