hello grungesabin

this link http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeI d=321957&prodSeriesId=3747826

shows a lot of devices in the HP Pavilion dv4 1100 series. Please check the exact model number of your device, and maybe we can help you check for the drivers. kindly post the complete model number, usually its indicated in the HP warranty sticker underneath the laptop.

hi,

im sorry, i think HP really does not have windows xp drivers for your computer
ive encountered several machines like these (not only from HP, but from other manufacturers as well) who do not make drivers for windows xp.

i suggest you go with the default Vista instead. Of if possible, see if you can upgrade to Windows 7.

goodluck and regards

Hello Dominic
Thank yous so much for your concern. I too tried almost everywhere now the only way i see is to disable SATA from Bios.
