Cd How do you get DVD's to play without a player?

I just can't seem to find an easy way to play dvd's on my computer! I have been trying to use some of these free dvd players you come across in the search engines. I see plenty of players but I could sure use some help and advice installing or downloading a program that would actually have me watching my dvd's.

just about any video program will play dvds, even windows media player does a good job, but i always suggest using VLC where possible, it is a free multi codec program.

*does your computer have a dvd drive? perhaps it is only a cd rom drive?
