Disabling Startup Items

By master_ben

Some windows applications automatically start every time your computer boots. A few examples of these applications are instant messengers, widgets, and torrent downloaders. These applications may decrease the boot up speed of your computer on varying levels.

Fortunately, users have the option to disable certain program startups. Here are the steps:
1. Press Start.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type “msconfig” on the text field.
4. Go to the startup tab. A list of startup items will be displayed.
5. Uncheck the boxes of the startup items that you wish to remove from your boot up process.
6. Press the OK button and restart your PC for the changes to take effect.
