Default CD/DVD driver

Hello all,
As my laptop was functioning very slow I wiped it and after that I tried to install Windows 7 but as soon as I select Language, Time, Keyboard and click on Install Now, I get an error message as follow
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.

Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."

I can't understand what the error is about and I even tried to change bios setting from ide to ahci but didn't find the option.

What could be the solution for this please help.

Regards

Ok, from what I've found, it looks like you may have the 64 bit version (please confirm). This version of windows 7 doesn't allow installation of unsigned drivers by default.
First, try changing the bios setting to boot from the CD/DVD drive first, as long as it boots from the DVD before attempting it from the hard drive.
If this doesn't work, l would suggest going to the HP site and downloading the driver and placing it onto a USB stick ready for use.

Any other problems, or if this helps resolve the problem, please post back for our members.

Thanks

Martin
