Default After Reformat

I just reformatted my computer with Windows XP. Everything worked good, but now everytime I start up my computer it asks me what to run (on that black screen) and the options are both Windows XP Home Edition. As soon as I enter it starts up my computer, but is there a way so I do not have to go through this everytime?

Thank you,
Ancient

Use a boot manager like EasyBCD to remove the other OS entry.
Download EasyBCD 1.7.2 - NeoSmart Technologies

Default Another way???

If I understand you correctly... open the boot.ini file and delete the second of the two entries. It should look like this... The "30" refers to the time you have to wait on Windows to start itself up, unaided.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
