I formatted my computer because it was intervened by viruses. Now i am in need of recovering some files that were in my PC. I am confused ... while recovering files, don't the virus files get recovered too? Or is there any way to recover only the required files?

File recovery is a expensive job especially after you have formatted and reinstalled a operating system ( I surmising you installed a OS). You probably have overwritten the files you wanted to retrieve.

There are various tools on the net you could try with varying success, but I do not think you will much luck.

Always make backups of important stuff so you do not lose anything of value.

Here's one called Recuva that may help salvage something.

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Home

I agree with wombat on file recovery....for any hopes at all the best options are for the paid for programs but even they don't work as well as they could/should...data files are easier to recover than picture files...
