Default Which Is Better Celeron Or Pentium 3

I have a Pentium 3 Intel Processor Chip in my HP Pavillion 8655C Computer and I have a Celeron in two Gateway Computers that I have. The HP is marked 533MHz but when I installed Windows XP Home Edition it came up on my System's Screen doing 535MHz now. I want to know if the Celeron a better Processor than the Pentium 3 and if it's safe to remove it to try the Celeron in the HP Computer without having to reinstall Windows or anything because the Celeron Processor Chip is doing 733Mhz.

You will most probably find that the cpu socket on the motherboard will be incompatible for starters...

Default Thanks!

I guess you saved me from having gone inside this Computer and ended up having to reinstall Windows all over again

Mr wombat is right! the chips are not interchangeable....but...even if they were...changing them out should not cause an issue to have to reinstall windows.
