Hi Rgourlay,

Welcome to SysChat.

One way you can identify whether any PC has Hi-Speed USB or not if OS is (Windows ME, 2000 and XP).

1. Right Click on My Computer -> Properties
2. Select Hardware tab -> Device Manager
3. Open Device Manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus section.
4. There should be an "Enhanced" USB host controller present.

In the fig. Shown below you will find other USB Host controllers, these are to maintain backward compatibility to USB 1.1 devices. Likewise USB 1.1 is also forward-compatible with USB 2.0

You can also try AIDA32

AIDA32 is a professional system information, diagnostics and benchmarking program running on Win32 platforms. It extracts details of all components of the PC. It can display information on the screen, print it, or save it to file in various formats like HTML, CSV or XML. For corporate users, AIDA32 offers command-line switches, network audit and audit statistics, remote system information and network management.

I have been using it and absolutely love it.
