the program is not made for Vista...only XP and older.

Education › Science-related Programs › WXTide32 4.7

you might try contacting them and see what they plan on doing for VISTA ompatability issues!

Vista has a Compatability function the same as Win XP.

Here's a tip I found with Google that may work for you.

Quote:
Many software vendors are working to release Vista-compatible versions but in the mean time, you can try running the applications in Compatibility Mode.

To do so:

1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Location the application executable.
3. Right click the executable and click the Properties option.
4. Select the Compatibility tab.
5. Select the Run This Program in Compatibility Mode option.
6. From the drop-down list, choose the operating system you ran before upgrading to Vista.
7. If necessary, select the option to run the program as an administration.
8. Click OK.
I found this here: Run Applications In Compatibility Mode In Vista ~ Windows Fanatics

Hi,it says in the info not tested for vista but being a public domain program thought worth a try.Tried the combatability change but no luck, same as running as administrator.I did find one version written in java, that one worked fine but was only a partial version. The tcd files seem to be hard to find any info on,found a couple of supposed readers but sure didn`t recognize the source so was afraid to try,the one I found some other references too and tried didn`t work. Thanks for the input.

Hello again, think I got it.Had put in my documents.Went into and set both application folders into XP compatability, then would open from there.Closed and tried to open from programs, recieved tcd error message, wouldn`t open.Went into my documents, opened folder and put applicator on desktop and now will work fine from there. The applicator in programs is set to XP but won`t work from there.Even installed the WVS map grid as it should running from the folder in my documents. Thanks Wombat, you kept me going there even though I had tried your sugestion earlier,I just kept trying to open from programs.
