Default Solved: Netscape 7x magic folders

For those die hards that still use Netscape of whatever version, this might be of help in a pinch. I'm slowly turning to FireFox...have been for quite some time, but still like the security of being able to fall back on Netscape, should FireFox act up.

For quite some time, I have been finding magically appearing folders in the Documents and Settings\1\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\xxxxxxx\zzzzzzz.slt folder which holds all of Netscape's vitals.

After many hours of finding viewers for all of the found files, opening them and rummaging around in them, I discovered that prefs-1.js and prefs.js were the culprits. Those two files hold all the Netscape settings.

I opened each up and rewrote the offending codes to match what I had in reality, rather then what it had made by default. The original cause, was that I had saved all of my settings from many times before, and had unwittingly been copying the same errors into each new setup.

I immediately saved copies of the newly written files and destroyed the others.

No more problems.
