Searching For Hidden Files

Windows XP has the ability to search hidden files in your computer. It is a powerful tool that helps us users get out of the hassles of manually searching for a file. Hidden files are not seen by the user on normal or default settings. In this tip, It is interesting to note that you do not need to configure your computer to show hidden files in the folder options dialog box. This also lessens the time needed for searching, thus increasing work efficiency.

Here is a list of steps on how to search for hidden files.

1. Click Start
2. Click Search
3. Click All files and folders
4. Click More advanced options. Click to select the Search system folders and Search hidden files and folders check boxes.
